I believe in holding my students to a high standard of excellence, while doing my best to create a classroom environment that encourages kindness and honesty among my students. I am looking forward to getting to know my students better and growing as a teacher. My verse for the year is “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10a
I attend Alliance Bible Church. I am very passionate about music. I’ve played a wide variety of different instruments including guitar, piano, and violin. I have broken each of my limbs at least once, and each at different times- I was apparently a fragile kid! |
This year I am looking forward to the new opportunities provided by being on-to-one with technology, and I’m looking forward to teaching 7th grade science for the first time. I believe in teaching science as the study of God’s creation. I also believe that students need to develop good problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. I plan to address all of these throughout the school year. My verse for the year is Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
I attend Fox River Christian Church’s Muskego campus. My favorite thing to do in my free time is read, but I am also an avid gamer, enjoying both board games and video games. |
My verse for the year is Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” I believe that each child is a gift with a unique personality and skill set, and that every child deserves an excellent education. As a teacher, I need to develop an environment where each of my students can grow. I need to foster relationships with my students, and encourage my students to develop relationships with each other. By doing this, I can recognize their interests and different learning styles. I will take this knowledge and adapt to their learning styles and differentiate when needed, using hands-on activities and projects to engage students. I want to encourage my students to work hard and develop a love for learning.
I attend Poplar Creek Church and I have been married almost 30 years. I have 6 children and 2 grandchildren. I love spending time with my family and I love to curl up with a book in my spare time. |
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12.
This year, I look forward to showing my students that mathematics is fun, useful, and thought-provoking. Furthermore, if the Lord illuminates us, mathematics is also a means of participating in the divine, as our rational mind is a frontier between the natural and the supernatural (C.S. Lewis, Miracles.) I pray that I may lead students to gain such glimpses of divine glory. Having been a student for many years, I am trained in a variety of disciplines such as engineering, chemistry, history, philosophy, and theology. I am new to the region and have not yet joined a local church. In the past I have sung in choirs and organized prayer and worship services for small gatherings of close friends and family. Singing Handel’s Messiah with a large group has been my most memorable experience. |
