This year I am excited to share the love of Jesus with my new group of students. I want to help them create a love for life long learning. My verse for the year is Psalm 34:8 ,”Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him”
In my class, I strive to provide a consistent, safe environment in which my first graders can grow and learn. God gifts each of us with unique talents and abilities. It is my job to help my students discover the gifts He has given them, and to build on the areas in which they have challenges. I have been a member of Faith Bible Church for the last 28 years. I am actively involved on the worship team. I love dogs! My family fosters dogs and finds them their “fur-ever homes.” |
I consider Grace Christian Academy to be my second home! I attended GCA from K4 until I graduated from high school in 2018. I pray that GCA can be your home too- a place filled with families and staff who love and support one another in all phases of life!
My calling as a teacher is to share the love of Christ with all children! God intricately designs all children with beautiful minds and personalities. I cannot wait to discover how each child thinks, listens, interacts with others, and learns the material I teach. I believe the best way to teach a child is by providing a loving environment. Love means disciplining with empathy, showing patience, and devoting time to ensure every child reaches his or her potential. I attend Emmaus Fellowship Church in Hales Corners. I am an active outreach team member, the “tech” gal on Sunday mornings, and I attend weekly Bible studies. EVERYTHING!!! I cannot wait to serve the Lord in second grade! I am overjoyed to build and strengthen relationships with my students, their families, and fellow staff members! I am also super psyched to coach the girls' volleyball team and spend time with my fellow staff members this school year! My classroom theme is Dr. Seuss; specifically, the story of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. My verse for the school year is Ezekiel 36:26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” |
This is my 3rd year at GCA teaching 3rd grade and my 21st year as a teacher. My background is special education and Title 1 instruction at the elementary and secondary levels. My bachelors degree came from Northwestern College in Orange City Iowa. I have 30 graduate credits towards a masters from Concordia University. My interests include travel, chess and strategy board games, camping, hiking, reading, escape rooms and history.

I am looking forward to my twelfth year at Grace Christian Academy. Our class verse this year is from 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith; be courageous, be strong.” I want my students to understand their personal need for a relationship with God and that He is their source of strength and hope. My desire for kids is that they are lifelong learners. We have so many answers at our fingertips. Why wouldn’t we look up the answers to our questions?
In my classroom, I enjoy incorporating storytelling and I encourage my students to be creative writers. My husband and I attend Grace Community Church, where I work in Women’s ministry, Children’s Church, and as a greeter on Sunday morning. I am also Mom to two sons, Tim and Josh. |
My classroom philosophy is to create exciting activities that explore a variety of learning styles. It is my hope that my class will gain subject knowledge while learning about our Heavenly Father. This year, I am looking forward to having all of my students in the classroom so we will be able to bond and grow as a class family. It is an honor to watch each and every student learn and grow academically, socially, and spiritually. My verse for the year is Psalm 147:4, “He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name.”
I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love being outside in God’s great outdoors. I enjoy gardening, crafts, coloring, cross stitch, and scrapbooking. In doing these things, I can soak in some quiet time with the Lord and have something beautiful form as a result. My husband and I attend Southbrook Church and enjoy volunteering in our community. |
