We're so proud of our graduates and all of their hard work. Graduation is live at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11. You can view here on YouTube Live. We are so thankful to everyone who helped to make our car parade a success. Our amazing students and staff are what make GCA the very best, and we loved every minute of being together, even if it was just for a short time, to celebrate our students and graduates! On Friday, June 12, Mr. Snyder and Coach Dale will duel in a LIVE Facebook Free throw contest to celebrate the end of this crazy school year. Each contestant will shoot 10 free throws LIVE for you to watch and see who has the better free throw. You can give to GCA through this event by pledging a specific dollar amount for each basket they make on our pledge form here by Wednesday, June 10. Be sure to also vote for who you think will make more free throws! No pledge amount is too small because we have THREE local businesses that have pledged to MATCH all earnings, up to $500 made through this event! This means your pledge is worth 4X as much as you give!!!! Our goal is to get $500 in pledges from GCA families and friends. If we can meet that goal, we will earn $2,000 total for our school with the matches from the local businesses! Vote and pledge now and be sure to tune in on Friday, June 12 to watch the big event! We miss having chapel together at GCA! Although we can't be physically together, we can still be spiritually together. Check out this week's Digital Chapel! In light of the unprecedented change in our 2019-2020 school year, Grace Christian Academy must find new ways to raise necessary funds for the operation of our school. Over 40% of our tuition-paying students are on scholarship, with GCA covering the tuition, technology, textbooks, field trips, and other expenses. It is our goal to never turn away a family that desires a Christ-centered education, regardless of their financial situation.
Without these funds, it makes it incredibly difficult to fund tuition scholarships, purchase classroom enhancements like new supplies and technology, and maintain our building so that we have the best learning environment possible for our students. To help with this need, GCA will be participating in the world-wide Giving Tuesday Now on Tuesday, May 5, and asking those that are able to consider donating to GCA. Donations can be made through our GoFundMe page. Please share our campaign and encourage your friends and family to support GCA during this time! If you’re not using Scrip, you’re missing out on a great opportunity to save on your students’ education expenses! Make your everyday purchases using Scrip gift cards and fundraise for GCA. You won't be spending extra time, energy or money!
Through Scrip, you can order gift cards for all the places you normally shop. For each gift card you purchase, a rebate is split between GCA and your students’ 2020-2021 GCA expenses. For example, if you purchase a $100 Roundy’s gift card through Scrip, a 4% rebate is applied. You can use the $100 gift card to shop like you normally would. The 4% rebate gets split between GCA and your child’s 2020-2021 GCA expenses, so you earn $2.00 and GCA earns $2.00! If you did this every week, you would earn $104 for your child’s 2020-2021 expenses! With Scrip, it all adds up! One GCA family received a $600 tuition credit a few years ago just by using Scrip gift cards on purchases they already planned to make! Scrip dollars raised can go to more than just tuition! Your Scrip purchases can also help fund expenses like gym uniforms, aftercare, milk and hot lunch. Here’s how you place your order: Browse hundreds of gift cards on the Scrip website and order a digital card online - ready to use instantly! To set up an account, email accounting@gcaschool.org. We pray you use the Scrip program to save money and support GCA! If you have questions about the Scrip program, call the GCA office at 414-327-4200 or email us at office@gcaschool.org. Brewer’s baseball will be back before we know it! This summer, Grace Christian Academy has the opportunity to raise money for our school by running a concession stand during a game at Miller Park and we need GCA family volunteers! Email office@gcaschool.org with any questions. Watch Pastor Rich Andrews and Mrs. Hummitzsch talk about encouraging each other, staying safe and healthy and academic reminders over coffee. Tuesday was supposed to be Doughnuts with Dad, but we can still virtually celebrate and connect as a community! Email office@gcaschool.org with photos of your family sharing a meal, doing homework, playing games or more this week! We'll share photos that we receive on Facebook!
Dear GCA Families:
Given Governor Evers’ order today banning gatherings over 50 people, we will no longer be holding classes on Tuesday, March 17. We have sent students home with schoolwork and assignments for the coming weeks, as appropriate, and will be in touch in the coming days with digital / online learning opportunities as well. This is an ever-changing situation, and we are doing our best to protect our students and staff as we adhere to the evolving federal, state and local guidelines. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your prayers. Raising Up a Standard, Cindi Hummitzsch |
